There are so many creative ways to make a CONNETIX Christmas tree. With the new CONNETIX packs, the possibilities just got even better! The glitter isosceles triangles (from the Glitter Unicorn and Glitter Castle Pack) are ideal for crafting a classic triangle tree shape.
I built two sparkly trees using this shape. The first one uses traditional Christmas colours (red and green), mixed in with glittery rainbow tiles from the Glitter Castle Pack. The second tree is a stunning, non-traditional tree, using purple, teal and pink triangles from the Glitter Unicorn Pack. These colours look amazing together and bring a sprinkle of unicorn magic to your holiday creations.
Don’t just stop at a flat-lay! Here’s a few ways to make it extra special:
Add decorations: Let your kids get creative by adding fun decorations (e.g. gems, bells or wooden pieces). It’s a great way for them to give their tree its own special personality.
Stand it up: The 3×1 yellow rectangle (from the Unicorn Pack) makes a sturdy base. It’s useful to lift the tree off the ground and create a shelf that can be used to display items (e.g. a reindeer figurine or a mini-Christmas scene)
Light it up: Wrap it in fairy lights or use the CONNETIX light-up tile for a magical glow.
Decorate your upright tree: The easiest way to decorate an upright tree is by using small metal items that naturally stick to the magnets inside the tiles (e.g. metal-rimmed counting discs, bells or chenille stems). The mini-squares from the Bright Portal Pack work just as effortlessly and add even more creative options! With Smart-Spin technology, you can angle the tiles exactly how you want for a cool, eye-catching effect. You can decorate with other types of loose parts (e.g. wooden pieces or pom poms), but you’ll need a removable adhesive like Blu-Tack to secure them in place.
This Christmas angel is super sparkly by day, and glows beautifully at night. It is mostly built with tiles from the Light Star Pack and the Glitter Unicorn Pack, with a few extras from the Glitter Castle Pack to complete the look. The pentagons from the Light Star Pack make perfect angel wings, and the light-up tile in the centre creates a gorgeous glow. There are also three brightness settings to experiment with to get the feel just right. You’ll notice the glitter doesn’t sparkle as much when the light comes from behind, but the angel still looks absolutely stunning at night. Whether she’s stealing the show while shining brightly on a shelf or glowing softly next to a sleeping child, this angel brings a touch of magic both day and night.
This glittery Christmas stocking is anything but traditional! Built with tiles from the Glitter Castle Pack, it shimmers beautifully in the sunlight. The blend of pastel and rainbow tones with a mix of purple, green, pink, yellow and blue hues make for a playful, vibrant look. It looks stunning on its own, but with CONNETIX ball run pieces, it can be transformed into a fun, interactive build. Want it to look awesome at night? Add a CONNETIX light-up tile behind it to create a glowing, back-lit effect that really pops (especially in a dark room). Create it. Play with it. Light it up. Now you can create glittery presents that sparkle and glow. Pair the mini-squares from the Bright Portal Pack with the light-up tile to build adorable, glowing gifts. For a twist on traditional holiday colours, try the pretty purple and pink tiles. They look great together and add a fresh pop of colour. Hide a tiny surprise inside, playfully gift them to each other, or display your present as part of your holiday decorations. These builds are quick, fun and easy, making them perfect for the whole family to enjoy together.
Gingerbread houses just got a glittery glow-up! With shimmering iridescent tiles, your creation will look so good, you’ll have to remind yourself it’s not actually edible. Get started by building your gingerbread masterpiece using glitter tiles for that magical sparkle. Then grab a chalk marker to add cute details such as windows, doors, snowflakes and candy canes. Complete your scene with a tiny CONNETIX Christmas tree or any other festive touches your kids dream up. You could even make a bunch of gingerbread houses and turn it into a little Christmas town. It’s a sweet, sparkly and sugar-free way to join in the Christmas fun together.
Out of all these Christmas creations, this Snowman might just be my favourite! I’ve built plenty of Snowmans before, but this one stands out. It’s sparkly, has the cutest face and those pink accessories make it even more adorable. The body, nose and scarf were made with glitter tiles from the Unicorn and Castle Packs. To keep it sturdy, I used clear squares and rectangles. Extra details included pink mini-squares from the Portal Pack for buttons, a Santa hat, a chenille stem smile and wooden loose parts for eyes. He’s cheerful, glittery and full of festive charm. Just looking at him makes me smile.
As you can see, the new CONNETIX packs open up a whole world of festive fun! While photos give you a glimpse, they just can’t capture how truly stunning the iridescent glitter is.
